James Buchanan Elementary School

This school located in historic Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was named after the 15th president of the United States, James Buchanan. The school opened in 1920 and is one of the 13 elementary schools in the School District of Lancaster.

The mission of Buchanan Elementary is to ensure that the children and staff feel valued, challenged and successful in a safe, nurturing environment of mutual respect and responsibility.

Wheatland Middle School

This school at 919 Hamilton Park Drive was named after the home of James Buchanan, 15th president of the United States, and the only president to hail from Pennsylvania. His home, located at 1120 Marietta Avenue, may still be toured today.
