Tell me something about you that most people don't know. I LOVE strategy games and war history. I'm fascinated by the machinations that lead to World Wars I and II and will make it my goal to demolish the high scores of others in puzzle games.
What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning? What am I going to wear? And then I change three times before finally leaving.
What's the farthest-away place you've been? Japan? Thailand? Although I had a 24 hour flight to India and I'm still not sure how that happened.
What do you think Lancaster will be like in 10 years? I'm looking forward to living in an even more vibrant art hub, with more venues for live music and upscale entertainment in the city. I think our population will continue to rise as more and more people who visit realize how much they love it here. Lancaster is so different form how it was when I was growing up. It's come so far, I can't see why it can't go further.
What do you consider to be Lancaster City's greatest asset? The passion with which the people devote themselves to bettering the city. I may not be a fan of every idea, but at least the people here have awesome talent and initiative.
Grabbing a bite in Lancaster with - $5, $10, $30 - Where (and what): $5- Market for lunch during the week. The Goodie Shoppe has amazing dishes for low prices. It adds up quickly after I make all my rounds (which includes Wendy Jo's) and I usually spend much more. $10-Rice and Noodles (on Oregon Pike). There's a seasoned pork vermicelli dish I can no longer live without. I'm there at least once a week, but definitely every Saturday! $30-Drinks with my meal at JB Dawson's or the Marriott.
What are the best aspects of your job? Each day is a new learning experience . One day someone will register a will handwritten on the inside of a Christmas card, the next your receiving petitions from feuding family members who can't agree on settling an estate. We even have a copy of President Buchanan's will. We do everything from opening estates to adoptions to marriage licenses.
Would you describe yourself as introverted or extroverted? Both. I enjoy socializing and especially like parties, but I do crave my alone time.
What is your coffee shop drink of choice? I go to Square One Coffee on Duke Street just about every evening, although I'm not a coffee-drinker. I drink English Breakfast everyday but of late I've been really into London Fogs.
What music are you listening to now? I'm obsessed with Ilan Eshkeri's compositions for the movie Stardust and One Republic, and Florence and the Machine. Odd combination, I know.
Best advice from your parents... To ALWAYS act like a lady.
What should they have taught you in school but didn't? Spanish. I'm glad that kids are learning that in elementary schools now. I hope they're also teaching them not to wear their pajama bottoms in public.
If there is one thing life has taught me it is...There are always people who think they deserve special treatment just because they woke up that day. And those people definitely don't care what I think about them.
